Meet Robbie McClure

George R. McClure—everyone knows him as Robbie—was born and raised in St. George, South Carolina. After graduating in 1976 from The Citadel, he began working in the insurance industry in 1983.

His father, George McClure, and family have been in business in the area since 1956. Robbie along with his wife, Rhonda, established McClure & Associates in 1987, and the firm currently has offices in Walterboro and St. George. Robbie’s son, Brandon McClure and daughter-in-law, Callie McClure, run the office in St. George, although Robbie also meets with clients there.

Robbie has always been diligent about helping clients, and is dedicated to doing all the hard work behind the scenes to find the right solutions and deliver one-on-one personal service to clients. As Robbie puts it, “People know that The McClures take their business very seriously. When you do a good job, you get a lot of referrals, and we are proud of that. We like to solve problems in a timely manner.”

“After 37 years in the business, my greatest joy is gaining someone’s trust and putting a smile on their face. I like to explain insurance products like a baker explains how to bake a cake—in extreme detail with every step of the recipe spelled out, measured out and timed accurately,” he says.

Robbie has been a youth sports coach for more than thirty years.
